It’s kick-off time, folks! The 2023-24 NFL season is charging in, and I’m sharing some proven, top strategies for your bets throughout the coming season. While not foolproof, these strategies significantly improve your odds of achieving that betting touchdown we’re all looking for.
Whatever you do, don’t even think about putting money down until you set up your bankroll. At the beginning of every season, you should set aside an allowance you aren’t afraid to lose. That’s your bankroll. You can set it aside weekly, monthly, or even a full season. Typically, betters go for a full-season bankroll. It’s just easier that way.
When making your bet, you should only use 2-5% of your bankroll at a time. That percentage can vary depending on how big your bankroll is. Doing this helps with two things: it simplifies your bankroll management and softens the blow a losing streak can cause. That’s a win-win in my book.
It’s worth repeating: do your research. Betting can get emotional, but don’t let your heart drive your decisions. Don’t bet on your favorite team or players but on actual data. Read up on stats, injury reports, weather, trends, and home-field advantages. Every bit of information you can get can work in your favor.
An informed bet is the best thing you can do for your odds. Although time-consuming, it gives you a leg up on the competition. Don’t underestimate the power of research.
It needs to be said: don’t bet unless you’re sober. While under the influence, it’s easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment. You’re filled with excitement. Then, the following day, you regret a bet that doesn’t hit. We’ve all done it before.
So, don’t get greedy with your bets while under the influence. Only bet when you’ve got a clear head and your eye fully on the prize. Trust me, it’s for your peace of mind and wallet!
